I did the half day drive out with Dave today who is a top guy and does a great job

I got a lot out of it and I think going into the session with a clear idea of what I wanted made a big contribution to that. The instructor was very good and his instruction was clear, complete and useful. I think that being sure the instructor takes the time up front to know what the participant wants to get out of it is the key here – and it was done well by Dave.

My main assessment of the course is to compare it to the ‘free’ (well its £20 for the year) training available through my local RoADA group. Dave did a good job of introducing things that are over and above that level of training (and I am sure there is even more that he could offer) and he is a polished and professional tutor, from whom it is easy to lean a lot in a short time.

As a standalone session, this was excellent and would represent good value for money. Dave’s knowledge and teaching skills mean that one session would likely be good value for any driver.

However, in comparison to the ongoing training available from my local RoADA group, the price for a few sessions starts to look expensive – too expensive (for me) to justify by comparison. My recommendation to anyone that asked would be to join a local RoADA group and have half a dozen sessions with one of their instructors and then make the investment in a session with Ride Drive and with someone like Dave to really polish things up and stretch the thinking that bit more.
