Training In High Performance Driver Skills

When a motor manufacturer builds cars, particularly high performance cars and sports cars, what will be the most important criteria the cars will need to meet? It is true the cars will need to have all the latest automotive technology in terms of the performance of their engines and pass the car safety test, but the main view of road and high performance car driving along itconcern will be whether it will be good enough to sell well.

Sports Cars & Other Fast Cars

Sports cars and other fast cars need to look exciting enough for you to want to buy one. Performance cars and sports cars actually need to be visually stunning, mainly because they are suppose to be fast cars and therefore need to look as if they are driving at speed at twice their capability, even when parked in the car park. High performance cars and sports cars often owe their development to racing cars, perhaps from the British Touring Car series, where technology and design are tested under extreme track driving conditions, and this even filters down into ordinary family cars too. Definitely, fast cars need to look fast, be fast and to appear as every inch a racing car, but with number plates.

So, if there is so much excitement surrounding performance cars and sports cars with highly tuned powerful engines, why is it that anything to do with tuning up your skills as the driver, to get more out of the car, has to be so deathly boring?

The trouble is that anything to do with road driver training has gained a reputation as being, well - sissy. It’s that driving lesson mentality thing and that is enough to turn anyone off and even have them drifting off to sleep. That is why it is always so easy to put up such a good argument as to why we don’t need driver training, even if that training is a high performance driving course. Road driver training beyond the test usually is boring, as well as often being patronising and condescending, which isn’t what you want. Not as an experienced driver.

Why Do I Need Advice On How To Drive My Car?

You are going to need something, because having a powerful car it would help if you had some powerful skills to go with it, so as to tune yourself up to the same level. Buying a high performance car or sports car doesn’t suddenly inject you with upgraded skills, and you can’t make it up as you go along either. Like your computer, you can only get out what has been put in. Even if you have owned a powerful car before, this one may be quite different.

We estimate that over 80% of people who own a high performance car, sports car or any fast car, will realise less than 35% of its full potential, and when we speak of potential we don't mean reaching its top speed, as any fool can drive fast in a straight line. What we are saying is that around eight out of ten high performance car drivers are living through a period of car ownership during which they are missing out on about 65% of what their car can offer. It’s a bit like owning a beautiful piece of art and never seeing the colours, or having a musical instrument that you never get to play well. That being the case, the only point in owning your high performance car or sports car will be to look good in a traffic queue, or when cruising on a motorway.

At Ride Drive we understand high performance car and sports cars; all cars in fact, and we understand what you want to get from your fast car. Our high performance road driving courses will always provide you with those extra level and often specialist driving skills to understand what it is you drive on the road, and at a much higher level. Fast cars require the fast processing of driver information, and with the development of a higher range of skills, these being different types of skills to that of the standard driver, you can then start to get the best out of your overall driving experience.

So How Does Your Driver Training Work?

All Ride Drive advanced driver training programmes are conducted on a one-to-one basis with you driving your own car. We do this because no two makes of high performance car or sports car will drive the same; and your car is the one that you continue driving thereafter.

When you book a Ride Drive High Performance Driving Course you will very quickly realise that you have embarked upon an exciting and fresh approach to advanced road driving methods that will be aimed at developing a high level of accuracy and smoothness in delivery. The whole package, whichever option you choose, will give you the skills necessary to use your car more effectively within a public road environment, and so gain more from your period of car ownership by producing greater vehicle performance and drivability from behind the wheel. Take cornering at speed, for example.

In a manner that is friendly and understanding we build upon your existing driving skill, preserving all the good stuff that you do and know, before taking you forward to a much more advanced level. We guide you to realising how to make unobtrusive progress by driving more consistently whilst handling the car more smoothly and more effectively. Imagine gliding along the road in a seamless flowing style, and yet without breaking any rules or driving in an anti-social or inappropriate manner. Not only that, but the style of driving will actually reduce the running costs of your vehicle, and this is achieved by using the road and the performance of the car in a more intellectual manner.

Where Are These Driving Courses?

Whatever advanced driving programme you decide upon, we will make sure that you are assigned a member of our team who is either from or near to your local home area, and who has the most appropriate driving skills and experience to help realise your expectations.
