Two–Day Lantra Accredited Course

Successful completion of the course will award candidates with a Lantra certificate, which is fully approved and recognised by Health and Safety Executive. Fully prepared vehicles (Land Rover Discovery’s) will be provided, with a fully Lantra qualified and experienced instructor and all the associated equipment required to the run the course.

The candidate to instructor ratio is set to a maximum of 3 to 1 per vehicle.

The training elements of the course include,

• The Vehicle – Familiarisation of the functions and features of the vehicle.
• Emergency procedures – Ensuring the health and Safety of the driver, occupants and of the vehicle.
• Vehicle Preparation – Identifying faults and deficiencies, considering suitability of the vehicle in performing the intended task.
• Starting Off – Correct move off and driving procedures in accordance to the terrain and driving surface.
• Vehicle Features – Correct use of four wheel drive systems and other traction aids.
• Vehicle positioning and route planning – Risk assessment of terrain and route in accordance with vehicle capabilities and terrain conditions.
• Variation in Driving Surfaces – Driving in a variety of terrain and off road situations, hazard perception and employment of vehicle management strategies.
• Off–Road to On–Road – Procedures for ensuring health and safety of vehicle and occupants, as well as general public at large, when making transition from off–road environment returning to the public road.

Training vehicles are provided insured for any driver on or off road by a policy of comprehensive insurance. They are kitted out with all the associated equipment required for winching ⁄ recovery demonstrations as required.

Single Day Lantra Accredited Course

The 1–day course has been constructed to cater for the professional user who has previous experience of using 4x4 vehicle in off road environments and of off road driving techniques. This driving course can also be used for refresher training for those who wish to refresh their previously learned skills.

Two–Day Lantra Accredited course, based upon candidates training as 3:1 — £313.33 per candidate

Single Day Lantra Accredited course, based upon candidates training as 3:1 — £186.66 per candidate.

Single Day Lantra Winching course, based upon candidates training as 3:1 — £186.66 per candidate.
